Ooohh, the world is shaking... It stopped! It's wobbly again. This head thing is quite heavy .

[go to the bottom of this post to get the full book! ] We call them The Silkies. The Tener Silkies, that is, because they are definitely part of the family. They are an ancient breed of chickens  of Asian descent, first introduced in Europe  by the Dutch as: the wondrous cross-breed between a rabbit and a chicken! It turns out that this is quite a believable description because they are absolutely fuzzy and soft, quite like a bunny. Note: The original version of this post had the phrasing "bunny rabbit" but Mara pointed out that "rabbit" is redundant because all bunnies are rabbits. Elena pointed out that "bunny rabbit" is more artistic. I will just have to write this again, in case you didn't realize how extremely huggable they are. Fuzzy and soft, they feel all over like a silky-soft fur - the poofy head, the poofy tail, chest and back and wings are all soft fuzziness. Sunday Brunch: Quinoa and Eggs!

Our friend Emily writes dontmissdairy.com , a blog with recipes that are adapted for dairy-free diets. Even though we don't really avoid dairy ourselves, one recipe caught our eye last week and we decided to make it a Sunday brunch. We used squash and carrots for the veggies, very finely chopped, and some delightful organic asparagus spears for decoration that ended up also delicious. I Want to See Fae-Fae!

Three months of a new human life in our midst, and not a single morning passed without us hearing these sweet, sweet words: Mara : I want to see Fae-Fae! Genuine, heart-felt, unquestionable desire to just stare at each other smilingly holding hands.  Or explore the world above together. I thought it would fade after the first few months, as novelty often does. But there's no sign of that! As soon as her eyelids crack open in the morning, Mara's very first thought is of Fae. She'd rather be late for school, miss her breakfast, or any other morning mishap, but she absolutely needs to see Fae Fae.  And that carries on through the day, at school pickup, at home, before dinner, at bedtime.
