Installing the Nest
Elena just wrote a blog post about how awesome is our first wedding anniversary gift: the Nest thermostat. This is the follow-up of the simple installation process.
Before getting the Nest, we took a photo of the thermostat and emailed it to them, then called to see if it would work to replace our current system. They said yeah, so we got it. It arrived in a few days in a small box, here's how it went down.

The Nest went in its place with the wires labeled and plugged in:
Then we connected it to the wireless network in our house:
This reminded me of the Onion article about a laptop with no keyboard (just a scroll wheel) since we have a very long wireless password. You have to pretty much roll the eye to get to each letter, but thankfully that's a one time process.
Aaaand done! The trim wasn't quite large enough to cover the area left by the previous thermostat, but it looks good to me! We'll add the patch of wallpaper to fix that soon.
